Easy2Start As the starter cord is pulled, a helical spring is tensioned against the compression pressure, when the energy stored in the spring is greater than the compression pressure, it is discharged to the crankshaft and the engine reliably starts. Thus greatly reducing the effort needed
Quick Chain Tensioning
The sprocket cover is simply loosened without the aid of tools and the chain tensioned quickly and easily by means of adjusting the wheel above
Decompression Valve
The valve allows some of the compression pressure in the cylinder to escape when starting the machine, thus reducint the effort necessary to start the chainsaw
Fuel Primer
Allows for easy starting by maintaining full fuel flow through to the carby before starting.
Stihl Compensator
This control unit inside the carburetor prevents the mixture of fuel and air becoming too rich as the air filter becomes clogged. The amount of fuel reaching the carburetor is metered in accordance with the amount of air passing through the filter. As a result the ratio of fuel and air in the combustion mixture and the engine performance remain constant for a longer period of time.
Easy Open Filler Cap
The special caps on the fuel and oil tanks can be opened and closed with no extra tools. Generous openings make filling the tanks easier.
Stihl ElastoStart
The started handle with integrated damping elements allows the machine to be started easily, without jerks or power peaks.
Stihl QuickStop Super Chain Brake
Additional braking system. The chain is brought to a hold as soon as the rear handle is released.
