GB Lumber Mill

Designed with the operator in mind, the new-concept GB chainsaw-powered lumber mill provides a simple and cost effective method of producing dimensional lumber.

The precision engineered mill is a strong steel construction providing greater durability than similar aluminium types, yet still amazingly light weight and portable.

A big difference and huge advantage of the GB Lumber Mill is that the mill attaches to the chainsaw powerhead and not just the guide bar. With other popular chainsaw mills, the powerhead hangs unsupported by the guide bar, which can cause premature bar breakage and added stress on the powerhead components.
The rigid GB Lumber Mill supports the powerhead for smoother cutting, better precision, easier operation and increased bar life. The powerhead mounting assembly has been designed to suit all makes and models of chainsaw above 60cc.

Handles on the GB Lumber Mill are adjustable to accommodate both left and right handed operators. They are also cushioned to increase comfort, and reduce fatigue and the risk of vibration-related injuries to hand and fingers.

For universal application, the easy-to-read calibration on the GB Lumber Mill are in both metric and imperial scales.

Prior to commencing with first cut, it is essential to establish a guide platform. An example of this is shown by using 50x150mm (2"x6") straight timber connected at either end using angle iron 50x50mm {2"x2") secured with nails to log.
Position the mill on the guide platform and make first cut. In order to achieve maximum accuracy in milling, the initial cut must be smooth and level.
Once the first cut as been taken, plans of a desired thickness can be milled by setting the mill attachment to the required depth.
After taking the first cut with the GB Lunber mill a board with a minimum thickness of 25mm or 1" and a minimum width of 150mm or 6" is secured to the top of the first cut. Then proceed to trim the sides.
Once log has been prepared, consecutive cuts can be taken from your horizontal mill
The GB Lumber mill can also be used to cut weatherboards. Please refer to owners manual for instructions.
